REIK
We went to the Reik concert last night. What could be better than a huge auditorium full of screaming girls? :)

Ballet Folklorico
We went to the Palacio de Bellas Artes last night to see the traditional dances. I LOVE the Palacio de Bellas Artes! It is probably my favorite building here.

Mi Cumpleaños
What a fun birthday weekend! With Mexico's Independence Day there were a ton of celebrations. Meagan and Nadia organized a little birthday party for me complete with a french toast and bacon dinner. I love breakfast for dinner, especially french toast. All of the Provo teachers came and a bunch of the local teachers. I definitely felt loved.

Noches Mexicanas
This week has been so fun. Mexican's really know how to celebrate. There is so much rich history, tradition, and culture here. I love it. Friday night the stake had a Noche Mexicana to celebrate independence day and then the MTC had one last night for the missionaries. So fun!!!

Don't worry, for as much fun as we were having, it also ended on a spiritual note :)

Independence Week
Every year the Mexico MTC goes all out for Independence Day and this year is no different. The whole campus is decorated, the food has become even more traditional, and Saturday night the missionaries get to enjoy "La Noche Mexicana" complete with the grito and I'm not even sure what else.

Mexico vs. Honduras
We went to Aztec Stadium to see the Mexico vs Honduras game Friday night. It was quite the experience-one that everyone should have. Mexico didn't win, but we still had a good time anyway.
One of the teachers made this video of our experience. It sums it up pretty well (minus the secretly cheering for Honduras part).

El Centro.........Sort Of
We wanted to take Eric downtown for his last night here. The only problem was that the teachers are on strike and have occupied the zócalo so the National Cathedral was closed along with a lot of the parks. And the Monumento de la Revolucion was having maintenance done. But we did our best. And, since it's September, everything is decorated for my birthday Independence Day on the 15th.
